Uzio is hCentive’s SaaS-based online marketplace, that serves as a self-service portal for small and mid-sized businesses, relieving them of tracking business process and administrative activities related to employee benefits, HR and payroll. It peaked with 30,000 plus users,15,000-page views per month and $10 million in premium processed per day. Below are my accomplishments in this role:

  • Led product team of twenty-five (four business analysts, five members of quality assurance, fifteen developers and one UI/UX designer) and revamped software development processes, implementing two-week code sprints, quarterly releases, agile methodologies, video scrum, and retrospect meetings

  • Successfully led two moderate pivots, redefining strategy and shifting team to the new vision.

  • Designed and led 6 user focus groups with more than 35 people participating as an initiative to evaluate the market competition, product positioning, and value proposition

  • Trusted to develop and present business plans, including strategic requirements, such as product design and strategic fit, go-to-market strategy; pricing, cost, revenue forecasts, profit.

  • Led designing two-year product roadmap by engaging with existing and potential customers for a complex suite of management tools and critically analyzing the needs of such a large product portfolio. 

  • Pared down feature list by 30% to enable more rapid development of critical products.

  • Led redesign of product signup user interaction and developed a data-driven approach in conjunction with user personas, which resulted in a 60% increase in Sign-Ups.

  • Key result 1 Achieved 90% increase in the number of employers using the portal to a total of 1,600 (in a year).

  • Increased virality coefficient to 1.2 by introducing a simple new feature where employers and brokers can refer Uzio easily to their existing LinkedIn connections.

  • Key result 2 – Implemented user persona-based product marketing and achieved an increase of monthly active users (MAU) by 3,000 with 15,000 page views

  • Key result 3 – This SaaS-based marketplace achieved processing, $161 million in total premium and peeking at $10 million as average daily premium

  • Key result 4 – Designed and implemented customer satisfaction surveys to control employer annual churn to 3%, the goal is to limit annual churn to 2% or less
